Bereavement Visiting

Following a training and information afternoon in October 2009, when we were helpfully addressed by members of the Brighton and Hove Bereavement Group, we have started a Bereavement Visiting Service to follow up on funerals undertaken by members of our Ministry Team. We have one fully trained Bereavement Visitor who, when requested, will visit people who are finding their grief and loss difficult to cope with.

At present this service is in its infancy, but we are delighted now to be involved in the first stages of an ecumenical approach to Bereavement Support involving the other churches in Shoreham, most of whom provide some sort of follow-up of people who have suffered a bereavement. A leaflet about this service around the Shoreham Churches in in production, and it is hoped this will be available in various places around the town and in our Porch.
