The Craft and Fellowship Group

May the graciousness of the Lord our God be upon us and prosper the work of our hands, prosper our handiwork.” Psalm 90:17

Founded about 20 years ago this friendly group meets fortnightly throughout the year alternate Wednesday mornings in members homes making crafts to sell, raising funds to buy goodies to fill shoeboxes to send to Romania each Christmas, we also knit hats, scarves, mittens, gloves and children’s jumpers to go in the shoeboxes, and make Easter chicks and banners for the church.

We also have a prayer shawl making ministry, using a pattern based on the trinity from the book “ Knitting into the Mystery” these warm and comforting shawls are much appreciated by those who receive them.

For the past ten years we have delivered an average of 100 shoeboxes each October to Link Romania in Worthing who ensure that they reach Romania, Moldova and Albania in time for Christmas. See our pics in “photos”

We also attempt other crafts like card making and painting. We have outings to Garden Centres, the Bluebell Walk at Arlington and Terra Amata Farm at Billingshurst to see the wild flower meadows and we collect blankets, school uniforms, sewing machines and other tools for Ben Van Nes from Terra Amata to take to Zambia. Each year we have a quiet day at Crowhurst.
