Second Sunday of Epiphany

14th January 2024

 

 

The season of joyful celebration that began at Christmas continues through the successive Sundays of Epiphany, and the festal cycle ends with Candlemas in February. We hope you can join us.

Collect

Eternal Lord,

our beginning and our end:

bring us with the whole creation

to your glory, hidden through past ages

and made known

in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Readings

1 Samuel 3.1-10[11-20], Psalm 139.1-5,12-18, Revelation 5.1-10, John 1.43-51

 

Sea Lights takes place this Sunday in the hall, starting at 10am. New children are always welcome.

 

Healing Prayer is offered most Sundays after the 10am in the side chapel.

Fun Fundraiser

 

Labyrinth walk at 7am this Sunday in the hall. A contemplative preparation for the 8am service. All welcome.

Fellowship Lunch We are looking forward to our first Fellowship Lunch in 2024. It is on 21st January at 3, Kings Walk. If you would like to come please let me know by 14th Jan. Bible Learning Circle a new term begins, this year exploring Mark’s Gospel. It starts on

Celtic Evening Prayer

 

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

We will again pray for Christian Unity, this year using material produced by the churches of Burkina Faso focussing on the parable of the Good Samaritan. It’s a good opportunity to meet other local Christians.

The Good Shepherd gets its traditional Epiphany door blessing. We distributed blessed chalk at the end of last week’s Sunday services for all those who wanted to bless their homes for the coming year.
