We continue to celebrate Ordinary Time and Creationtide during the Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity. Come and join us in church.

Collect

Lord God,

defend your Church from all false teaching

and give to your people knowledge of your truth,

that we may enjoy eternal life

in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sea Lights for children this week. New children are always welcome to join our Sunday group, starts 10am in the church hall. The children join our worship at Communion.

Revd Steve Revd Steve’s will be licensed as Rector by the Bishop of Horsham in a service at St Andrew’s, West Tarring on Monday 2nd October at 7pm. All welcome.

Healing Prayer is offered most Sundays after the 10am in the side chapel.

The flowers this week are sponsored by Lynda Hargreaves in loving memory of her partner Keith. RIP.

Beach Social Café takes place in church, Tuesdays 10.30am-12noon. All welcome.

Harvest Service Celebrations

Following the all-age Harvest service on Sunday 1st October we hope you will be able to join in the 'ploughman's lunch' in the hall.  The cost will be £5.50 per person (£4.00 for children).  Booking sheets will be available at the back of the church.  Please sign up soon as numbers will be needed by 24th September.  Helpers are needed, so if yon lend a hand, please let Kay (Churchwarden) know.  Mob. 07949 505187

Harvest Donations We will be collecting dried or tinned foods for the Shoreham & Adur Community Food Bank. Our offertory collection will be for the local homelessness charity Turning Tides.

Wading Birds As part of our special celebrations for Creationtide Revd Jess will be giving a talk at the church Tuesday 19th September, 7.30pm about the birdlife on the Adur Estuary Nature Reserve.

She is a volunteer warden for the RSPB.

 

St Mary de Haura women’s fashion show Thursday 28th September, 7.30pm. A catwalk show hosted by Travelling Trends, with a chance to buy clothes at bargain prices. Hosted as a fundraiser for St Mary de Haura. Tickets £8, including a glass of wine. Buy in advance for a fun night out from the Parish Centre.

Sunday Morning Labyrinth Walks

If you would like to walk the labyrinth before the 8am service, John Watters is hosting a canvas labyrinth walk at 7am-7.45am in the church hall on Sunday mornings. All welcome.

Our next PCC meets Wednesday 20th September at 7pm. We give thanks for all those who give generously of their time to serve on the PCC (parochial church council). Please hold the PCC in prayer as it meets and makes decisions on behalf of the church community.

Morning Meditation returns after a summer break. We will meet in the vicarage garden if the weather is warm. Breakfast and discussion follow for those who wish to stay. All welcome.

 

Eco Tip for Creationtide from the CoGS Eco Church team Plastic milk bottles can be rinsed out, crunched up and the lid screwed back on before placing in your blue bin.

And finally…

Peace doves with colourful messages of peace, love and hope from the congregation are winging their way to Chichester Cathedral. They form part of a forthcoming art installation featuring 15,000 doves hanging in the cathedral nave, all with prayers from community groups. It runs 30th September to 12th November. Revd Jane and Judy are hoping to offer a church trip. Watch this space for more information.
